Position Overview

We’re hiring a Video Editor who can help us more effectively accomplish our mission as a company. That mission is to help historically and systemically marginalized people who want to make more money. We provide executive coaching that challenges societal constraints, an empowering community, and strategic, wealth-building education. We're on the lookout for a video editor who can bring their creative flair and a deep passion for elevating our visual content to the next level. You'll be diving into the realm of video editing, shaping our videos into captivating stories that resonate with our audience.

Who You’ll Work With

This is a full time contract role that reports directly to our Marketing Director. You’ll work closely with our teams in Marketing and Programs.
We are looking for someone who has 2-3 years proven experience editing educational and marketing content, strong attention to detail, and also has dreams of long term growth with Hello Seven. This is a remote, work-from-home position with occasional travel.
This position will also require flexibility including working some occasional evenings and weekends. We run several live events per year that may require your in-person assistance.

Duties, Responsibilities, and Expectations

Position: Video Editor
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Marketing Director

Role

The Video Editor is responsible for editing video content, including Hello Seven’s virtual and in-person planned events, new course content, social media and digital marketing needs, and backend processes. Your expertise in video editing software, attention to detail, and creative flair will be instrumental in enhancing our brand’s digital presence.

Responsibilities & Essential Duties  

  • Edit and assemble raw footage into polished videos that meet brand guidelines and objectives at a high level.
  • Collaborate closely with the creative team, content creators, and other stakeholders to understand project goals and requirements.
  • Ensure video content is aligned with the brand’s tone, style, and messaging.
  • Edit and optimize videos for various platforms, including social media, website, and other digital channels.
  • Review and select the best shots, sequences, and angles to create visually appealing narratives.
  • Trim, rearrange, and adjust video segments to maintain a seamless flow and pacing.
  • Color correct and adjust lighting, audio, and visuals to achieve the desired aesthetic.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, video editing techniques, and emerging technologies to bring fresh ideas and approaches to video production.
  • Maintain and store all footage, per Hello Seven processes and standards.
  • Organize footage to be used at a later date, as needed.
  • Turn around footage and all edits according to deadlines set by the project manager.
  • Process requests via Notion in agreed upon time constraint.
  • Understand all company products.
  • Ensure all videos have closed captions available.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in film production, media arts, or related field is preferred.
  • 2-3 years proven experience editing educational and marketing content.
  • Video production experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Dropbox, Microsoft Office, Apple OS, and Google Apps.
  • Proficiency with video editing software.
  • Skill in visualizing and shooting concepts effectively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
